Math

Results from the Eastern Maine Math League winter meet are in and many MJHS students made a great showing. Members of the math team compete in an individual round, a special round (which is a harder individual round), and a team round. MJHS competes against schools like Ridgeview, Caravel, Wagner, and Holbrook.

In 6th grade, Vanessa Morse came in second and Colby Thompson placed in the top ten. The team of Brady Cox, Ayden Gordon, Vanessa Morse, and Michael Wortman placed third.

In 7th grade, Colton Michaud placed first and Kooper McCarthy placed third. Carter Milner, Stephen Sweep, and Logan Martinez all scored in the top ten. The team of Kooper McCarthy, Colton Michaud, Carter Milner, and True Weatherbee placed first. The team of Logan Martinez, Stephen Sweep, Evan Theriault, and Liam Walsh placed fourth.

In 8th grade, Kaelyn Cloukey placed third and Aidan Howe, Derek Beach, and Addison Cyr scored in the top ten. The team of Derek Beach, Julian Cloukey, Kaelyn Cloukey, and Addison Cyr placed third. The team of Ashley House, Megan House, Aidan Howe, and Mirage Priller placed fourth.

This was a fantastic job by our MJHS Mathletes! Our team is in a position to win our division in the league. The final meet of the top eight scorers in each grade level was today, and we hope to bring home the gold.
