We hope our students and their families are enjoying a safe and fun winter break, and we look forward to having our students return on Monday, January 6th, 2025.
The weeks of school before break were extra busy at MJHS as our staff and students participated in a number of fun and philanthropic activities in addition to academics. Staff hosted a yard sale of donated items during parent-teacher conferences in November and our first annual craft fair in December to benefit the MJHS food pantry with over $2000 raised. We also provided extra food boxes for the Thanksgiving and winter breaks through generous donations from our community and staff. The 7th and 8th graders held their annual coin war won by the 8th graders, but the real win is the $300 they were able to donate to the MJHS food pantry. Our food pantry is 100% funded through donations and fundraising.
8th graders joined Mr. McCarthy at the Burlington Food Pantry on December 13th to assist in their packing and distribution of food to over 500 families. This partnership continues to benefit the volunteers of the food pantry and we are so proud of our students for their hard work and volunteerism.
MJHS staff also held an "underground spirit week" two weeks prior to break as a fun surprise for the students. See if you can guess a few of the themes.
