Mattanawcook Jr. High School

Groups of 8th graders volunteered at the Burlington Food Pantry during two distribution Fridays in May. The students were impressed by the number of volunteers and their efficiency in serving close to 500 families each of these days. Our 8th graders jumped right in to pack food, carry items, and load vehicles. The students had such a positive experience, they felt that every 8th grader should have the opportunity to serve our community in this way. We hope to make this a regular service learning volunteer opportunity next school year, to benefit both the pantry and the students. I would encourage you to consider volunteering as well.
