The online registration platform has been set up for fall sports. Athletes and Parents can register online by logging into the RSU67 webpage and clicking on the sites icon, select Mattanawcook Academy, once there under the menu tab you will find athletics. Click athletics and then select MA sports paperwork. On the on-line sports registration link is attached there. For more specific directions you will find the MA athletic letter, the letter has directions that will help you complete your paperwork.
I would like to provide an update regarding the use of the MA tennis courts. After conversation with RSU 67 administration it has been determined that opening up the tennis courts would jeopardize social distancing recommendations that have been passed down by Governor Janet Mills. I will keep you posted on any changes to this decision. Thanks for your patience.

This morning I received an e-mail from the DOE/MPA stating that all Spring sports pre-season activities have been postponed until April 27, 2020. The plan is to revise schedules in order to complete our seasons in a timely fashion. I will keep all of you informed regarding any additional changes. I have attached an abbreviated version of the e-mail that I received this morning.

Because of this, the MPA Board of Directors and Interscholastic Management Committee voted today, March 13, 2020 to delay the start of the 2020 Spring sports pre-season practice until April 27, 2020. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make the appropriate changes as needed to ensure the safety of all students.

The class C/D PVC All-Star game scheduled for Thursday, March 12th has been cancelled. The game will not be made up.
Due to direction from the MPA all Unified Basketball events/games have been postponed until further notice. The plan is to reschedule the senior game vs Old Town once we are given the O.K. Thanks for understanding!
Best of luck to MA wrestlers Jackson Sutherland and Isaac Hainer as they take their considerable talents to Metheun, Mass where they will compete against all the top wrestlers in New England. Mattanawcook Academy wrestler Jackson Sutherland has done it again. Wrestling in the 138 lb weight class at the All State competition Jackson finished first in his weight class. Jackson who remains undefeated on the season will now take his talents to Methuen, Mass where he will complete in the New Englands. Way to go Jackson! Freshman Isaac Hainer completed another successful weekend as he finished 3rd at 145 lbs. He will join Jackson at the New Englands next weekend. Great job MA wrestlers.
The MA winter sports banquet will be held in the MA Cafeteria on Tuesday, March 10th. The event will begin at 5:30 and conclude at 7:30. I look forward to seeing you all there.
Congratulations to MA wrestler Jackson Sutherland for being crowned Class B state champion this past weekend . Wrestling at 138 pounds Jackson continues his impressive career with his second state title in as many years. The MA team was well represented at this years competition and they garnered at state runner up title along the way. MA wrestlers Isaac Hainer, Deegan Tidswell, and Clyde Carr were crowned runners up. Alex Munson and Travis Mushero finished 4th. Kaleb Toby finished in 5th place.

All after school activities have been cancelled for Thursday, February 13th. The Unified Basketball game scheduled for tonight will be rescheduled for a later date.
The MA Lynx boys basketball team earned a hard fought 50-46 victory over rival Lee Academy on Wednesday. Mr. Turner's # 6 seed will travel to the Cross Center on, Wednesday 12-19 where they will face the #3 Fort Kent in a Quarter final match up. The game will begin at 9:30 am. Best of luck to our very determined boys team.
Due to impending weather on Thursday, 2-13, the MJHS cheering competition being held at Howland has been moved to Wednesday, February 12th. The times will remain the same. A revised schedule has been added to the MJHS Athletic Page.
The MA wrestlers competed in the Class B regionals at Caribou on Saturday. Clyde Carr, Jackson Sutherland, Alex Munson and Deegan Tidswell were all crowned champions. Kaleb Toby and Isaac Hainer finished as runners up, while Travis Mushero came in third. Matt Russell finished in 5th place. A great showing for the MA Lynx grapplers.

The 6th seed MA Lynx boys basketball team will host the 11th seed Lee Academy Pandas on Wednesday, February 12th at 6:30. The two teams split on the regular season

Good luck to the MA cheerleaders as they travel to Augusta on Saturday, February 8th for the state cheering competition. The bus will leave MA at 9:30, the competition begins at 2:00. The MA cheerleaders are scheduled to take the mat at 3:30.
