Mattanawcook Academy

Last week Mattanawcook Academy students visited Lakeview Terrace for a fantastic opportunity to visit with the residents!

This year the Alternative Education Program is partnering with the Life Skills Program in a community integration project with Northern Pines Care Estates, Lakeview Terrace in Lincoln, Maine. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide ways for our students to learn and practice social grace, and to give back to our community. The photos depict our students spending time with the residents at the facility playing Wheel of Fortune, and participating in Karaoke. The students are developing plans to create lasting memories with the residents which will include a makeover day, arts and crafts days for the upcoming holidays, fishing, and even gardening later in the year, and in general learning to have meaningful conversations.
