The second-grade participated in a service-learning activity where they collected coins to purchase gifts for kids who might be less fortunate. They collected and rolled $1100 worth of coins, which helped them practice their skip counting and other math skills, then went to Walmart and shopped for 43 local kids. This annual activity has become a special part of the holiday season for our second-graders and teachers. Thank you to the whole second-grade for their efforts.
