Dear R.S.U. No. 67 Families,
Welcome back to R.S.U. No. 67 schools for the 2020-2021 school year! The beginning of a new school year, like the dawning of a new day, reminds us all that the future holds infinite possibilities. I hope your family had an opportunity to refuel during this amazing Maine summer. As we embark on a new school year, I am filled with hope, vision, and optimism. I sincerely wish all of our R.S.U. No. 67 students the greatest success in the 2020-2021 school year.
The return to school will certainly be like no other. R.S.U. No. 67 has made some changes to create a safer learning environment for students and staff based on guidance from the Maine Centers for Disease Controls (CDC) and the Maine Department of Education. These changes include the wearing of face coverings, social distancing, and frequent handwashing, to name a few. Please visit the “COVID-19 Information” section of our website for more information.
The first day of school for students in grades Pre-K to grade 9 will be Tuesday, September 8. All students will be in attendance on Wednesday, September 9. School hours are 7:30-2:00 for PK-grade 6 students and 8:30– 3:00 for students in grades 7-12.
At the time of this letter, the COVID-19 pandemic remains very fluid. Information and guidance is changing as scientists and public health experts learn more about this novel coronavirus. Each of us continues to hope for a vaccine and effective measures to treat the spread of the coronavirus. However, until then, our individual behavior, including proper handwashing, wearing face coverings, staying home when sick, and social distancing will help prevent the spread of the virus.
On behalf of the entire staff of R.S.U. No. 67, thank you for entrusting your child’s education to us. We look forward to the return of our amazing students.
Kind regards,
Jean M. Skorapa
Superintendent of Schools
