RSU 67

Dear Staff, Parents, and Community Members:

I hope you took some time to unplug during the April break last week.  The snow falling this morning made it feel more like February than April.  My dad, an avid gardener, looked forward to spring storms calling them, "poor man's fertilizer."   Although his gardens were always bountiful, I think his comment had more to do with finding the positive in all situations.

RSU 67 will honor our adopted school calendar for the remainder of the school year.  Our teachers will continue to connect with all students and provide remote learning opportunities.  The last day of remote learning for our PK-11 students will be Wednesday, June 10.  The last day for our seniors will be Thursday, June 4.  A detailed plan for collecting laptops, textbooks, athletic equipment, etc. will be shared at a later date. 

Throughout the remainder of the school year, RSU 67 will continue to provide a nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack to all children 18 years old or younger on Mondays (three meals) and Thursdays (four meals).  We will operate all three sites:  Mattanawcook Academy, and the municipal lots in the towns of Chester and Mattawamkeag.

 On this wonderful April morning with the snow coming down, as we begin week six of our remote learning plan, remember this..."Staying positive doesn't mean you have to be happy all the time.  It means that even on the hard days you know there are better ones coming."

I want to thank the entire R.S.U. No. 67 community for doing their part to flatten the curve and their heroic efforts to take care of one another.   Please be kind to others, and take care of yourselves and the ones you love.
